Lesson Categories

The Lesson Categories section allows you to organize lessons into categorized groups for better navigation and filtering throughout your LMS. Categories can also be structured hierarchically using parent-child relationships.

Add New Lesson Category

To create a new Lesson Category, navigate to Dashboard > LMS > Lesson Categories and click on "Add New Lesson Category". Fill in the following fields:

Name

• The display name of the lesson category.

• This is how the category will appear on your site and in lesson filtering options.

Slug

• A URL-friendly version of the category name.

• Typically all lowercase, using only letters, numbers, and hyphens (e.g., basic-guitar).

Parent Lesson Category

• Select a parent category if you'd like to nest this new category under an existing one.

• Example: Jazz can be a parent category, with Bebop and Big Band as its children.

Description

• A short description of the category.

• This may not be displayed by default, depending on your theme, but can be shown in some layouts or widgets.

Usage Tips

• Use descriptive and meaningful names to help learners easily navigate your content.

• Hierarchical structuring is useful for subjects with subtopics.
